Representatives from 5 continents to attend FIFF

Representatives from 5 continents are to attend Fajr International Film Festival.

Guests and representatives from the five continents have been invited to the 36th edition of Fajr International Film Festival in Iran.

According to the public relations official in charge of managing the inner-festival affairs of this year’s event directors, cinematographers, and critics from around the world have been invited to the festival.

“At least the representatives of 60 countries have confirmed their attendance and the number is growing by the day. These representatives will come mostly from Europe including Germany, France, Sweden, Switzerland, and Italy,” said the official.

The Asian line-up includes Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Malaysia. Representatives from Syria, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Armenia, as well as two from Australia, will also be in attendance.

Morocco and South Africa will represent African continent.  

The two representatives of American continent are from the US an Argentina.

The official added that there will be delegates from the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) as well, which is an association of national organizations of professional film critics and film journalists from around the world for the promotion and development of film culture and for the safeguarding of professional interests.

The international version of the Fajr Festival is to start in the Iranian capital city of Tehran on April 19, and last until April 27.

The Fajr International Film Festival is held by the Farabi Cinema Foundation, an extension of the country’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

This is while; the domestic version of the Fajr Film Festival has come to an end on February 11, with the announcement of winners from Iran.
